Turkish Airlines will now add Sydney to its established Melbourne schedule. Flights via Malaysia four times a week will commence from 5 December 2024, ahead of an Australian-first non-stop service from Sydney to Istanbul, planned for some time in 2025. Whilst Melbourne was the first airport to establish a 100% Turkish airline service, Sydney will eventually host the nonstop flight to Istanbul. This service will depend upon delivery of the aircraft capable of making such a flight and growing demand.
Both the Melbourne and Sydney connections service add more variety to travel between Australia and Europe. Via Istanbul travellers can then access a network of more than 340 destinations across 130 countries on a one-stop itinerary, courtesy of Turkish Airlines’ expansive global hub. Turkish Airlines also serves 110 European destinations.
