Island hopping throughout Greece has been popular for decades. There have been occasional periods where an ‘Island Ferry Pass’ did exist. But they came and went.
The new Eurail Greek Islands Pass is now available as a mobile pass through Rail Europe’s website, granting access to four domestic travel days with Superfast Ferries, Minoan Lines, Grimaldi Lines and Blue Star Ferries to help travellers reach or move between served islands.
Included with the pass are seat reservations, fuel charges, port fees and a 30% discount on upgrades and additional ferry trips taken within an overall one-month time period.
The new product comes as Rail Europe says Eurail Pass bookings have increased since the company opened seat reservation functionality on Trenitalia and SNCF services, which are available fee-free on passes already booked with Rail Europe.
“Records show that more and more travel advisors have been taking advantage of the exclusive and booking-fee-free feature to ensure their clients secure their preferred seats prior to their European trip,” the company said.
Possibly a good addition to your travel logistics but do check what routes and how many journeys you require. It could be more economical to book individual segments. Another tip is to avoid travel in the peak summer periods!!
